One hundred was the magic number on Wednesday, Feb. 19, as elementary students around the district celebrated the 100th day of school.

In Megan Collins’ first grade class at EJR, students worked together to read 100 books that day. Their activities also focused on 100. In one writing assignment, the students wrote about some of their favorite things, in multiples of 100. For example, I would like to eat 100… cookies and hard boiled eggs were two answers. They also made hats declaring the day!
Alicia Molon and Meghan Isaacs’ kindergarten class made pretty interesting hats. They put 10 fingerprints on 10 different strips of paper and then attached them to their hats to make unique crowns.
Tiffanie Reilly’s class did lots of counting as they strung cereal and candy to make 100-item necklaces. It was fun and delicious.
