Hello Pine Bush parents and families,
Earlier today I was informed the same 12 bus routes that were not covered today will not be covered again for tomorrow. As a result, I will be closing all Pine Bush district-run schools tomorrow, Friday, September 10, 2021.
While there will be no bus transportation to our seven district schools, there will be bus transportation for all special needs students who attend an out-of-district school. Similarly, all of the private school bus routes will run tomorrow.
Our team here at the District continues to work on both short-term and long term solutions to the current bus situation, trying to fashion a solution that we believe is both practical and manageable. Currently when I close schools, I cannot simply pivot to remote instruction because we still do not have Chromebooks distributed to all of our students.
As a reminder: we cannot give your child a Chromebook to take back and forth between home and school, until you sign the agreement that was sent to your child’s school email address. Please attend to this, if you have not already done so.
If you purchased a Chromebook for your child to use at home and you do not plan to sign the form, please send an email message to your child’s principal so that they can make a note about that.
Sometime over this weekend, I will be calling back to let you know about our progress and what we think the short- and long-term solutions will look like to our current bus situation.
Have a great evening,
Tim O. Mains, Pine Bush Superintendent
