Students make creative and unique gingerbread houses

Students in Leeann Noonan’s Family and Consumer Science classes carried on a long tradition at Pine Bush High School by creating their very own gingerbread houses. They baked their gingerbread from scratch and designed and built their houses.

Two high school students sit at a table with a gingerbread house in front of them. They both are wearing black masks. The house has a brown roof and pretzels making a front porch.

The houses are unique, some with distinct architectural details – mid-century modern roof, for one – and lots of embellishments, including an igloo, decks, decorated trees and colorful lights.

Two young men, high school age, sit at a desk with a gingerbread house on it. The house is very elaborate, with a criss cross pattern on the roof and tiny multi-colored candies outlining it.

Staff members will come by and vote on their favorite designs.

Students had a great time working in teams on this project and are very proud of their work!

Three young women, all with long dark hair and black masks, sit at a table with three gingerbread houses in front of them. One is larger and has large pretzels all over it as if it were a log cabin. It also has colorful candy around it. The other two are a little smaller but nicely decorated.
