Winter-themed activities help make learning fun!

The PAK team makes learning fun! The week before winter break, they created some winter and holiday-themed activities to improve and reinforce students’ math, literacy, matching, prediction and motor skills. Not to mention it’s lots of fun for the students to ice fish and skate to get to their next activity!

A woman wearing an antler headband and black mask holds a blue bin with papers in it that have letters on them. There is a bulletin board next to her with a blue background and a green Christmas tree on it, surrounded by paper snowmen. Two elementary age girls are in front of the bulletin board looking at the teacher.

The students used tweezers to pick a paper hat from a bin of snow, then matched the word on the hat to the picture on the snowman. Students went ice fishing and whatever number was on their fish was the number of cups they could stack. They hypothesized what solution would melt a candy cane – water, soda, vinegar or oil (it was soda!).

A small group of elementary students stack green plastic cups up high in a pyramid shape. A woman wearing a headband with antlers on it stands and watches. All are wearing masks.

It was a fun and educational day!An elementary age girl with long dark hair, wearing a big bow in her hard, kneels on the floor and puts a black top hat on a paper snowman.

An elementary-age girl with a large bow in her hair, dark hair pulled back, uses tweezers to select a piece of paper from a green bin. She is wearing a purple print mask.
