PBHS auditorium to be dedicated to Superintendent Tim O. Mains on May 14

The Pine Bush community lost one of its greatest supporters back in December with the death of Superintendent Tim O. Mains. On Saturday, May 14, the district will honor Mr. Mains as it dedicates the Pine Bush High School auditorium to him.

“We want to honor the legacy of Tim Mains and all he meant to so many here in our district,” said Donna Geidel, interim superintendent of Pine Bush schools. “Naming the auditorium in Tim’s honor is fitting because so much happens here – shows, concerts, assemblies – and Tim was involved in every aspect of our district.”

The dedication of the Tim O. Mains Auditorium will take place on May 14 at 11 a.m. at Pine Bush High School. The Crispell Middle School musical performance of Aladdin Jr. will follow the dedication ceremony. The public is encouraged to attend both events.

At the conclusion of the show, a ceremony to honor Mr. Mains will be held in the Pine Bush High School library for invited guests. This ceremony will be livestreamed, beginning at 1 p.m. here or at PineBushSchools.org.

“Mr. Mains was a fan of everything Pine Bush, including its sports teams, Odyssey of the Mind competitors, and the music and drama programs,” said Gretchen Meier, president of the Pine Bush School Board. “When he came to Pine Bush in 2017, he encouraged the middle schools to create drama programs and produce a musical each year. That has resulted in a love for musical theater for many of our middle school students and amazing productions from both Circleville Middle School and Crispell Middle School. I’m thrilled to be honoring him in this way.”
