Important news and calendar updates for the remainder of the school year

Here are some important news items and calendar updates:

  • The Transportation Department is requesting that parents whose child(ren) WILL NOT require transportation for the 2022-23 school year go to the district website on the top banner and fill out and return the survey by May 31, 2022.
  • The elementary schools menu mistakenly lists Monday, May 23, as a half day.  That information is incorrect.  Monday, May 23, is a full day of school.
  • On Wednesday, June 1, 2022, ninth and 10th graders will not have school. Only 11th and 12th graders will report to school that day to accommodate the US History Regents and the Grade 12 English finals.
  • Beginning on Wednesday, June 15, high school students will only report to school if they have a Regents exam.  Special bus transportation and pick-up and drop-off times will be posted on the district website shortly.
  • School will be closed on the following upcoming dates: Friday, May 27, Monday, May 30 in observance of Memorial Day, and Monday, June 20 in observance of Juneteenth.
  • Middle school and elementary school students will have their last full day of instruction on Tuesday, June 21.  June 22, 23, and 24 will be half days.  Dismissal will be at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. respectively.
  • Lastly, we have planned a graduation parade for our seniors on Thursday, May 26. The parade will begin at the CVMS/PAK complex at 1 p.m. and progress through the entire district.  Students from all seven buildings will be outside to cheer on our graduating seniors (weather permitting) as it proceeds down Route 302.  Parents of graduates and community members are welcome to view the parade along Route 302, Main Street in Pine Bush, and Boniface Drive. In order to keep everyone safe, the seniors will be on buses, not driving their cars.  The parade will be escorted by the Town of Crawford Police Department and the Pine Bush Fire Department.

As of today, we anticipate holding in-person moving-up day ceremonies for grades 5 and 8 and PBHS graduation.  Dates are indicated on the school calendar.  We are looking forward to sharing all of these events with our students and their families!
