Happiness all around as CVMS Interact Club visits Pets Alive

The CVMS Interact Club visited Pets Alive on June 7, to tour the facility and socialize with the animals. This is the field trip Interact members look forward to the most. Due to the pandemic, the club was unable to visit the shelter for the past two years, so eighth grade club members, especially, were excited to finally get their chance to feed the goats and meet some of the puppies and kittens available for adoption.

Three middle school students are squatting down playing with a tan puppy.

And that’s just what they did, spending time with the animals and learning about the mission of the group. Pets Alive is a no-kill animal shelter in Middletown whose mission is to build a humane community supporting the human-animal bond through rescue, adoption, intervention, education and outreach.

Four middle school students smile outside with a dark goat.

“One of the representatives from Pets Alive said they love engaging with people in our community in general, but especially the young people with a passion for giving back when they can,” said Nicole Bobby, the CVMS Interact Club advisor.

A girl with long dark hair, wearing a light green tshirt and blue shorts, kneels with her hand out. There is food in her hand and a black goat next to it.

She continued, “The CVMS Interact Club looks forward to continuing the annual tradition of visiting and volunteering with Pets Alive for many years to come.”

A dark building is the background with a tree drawn on it. In front is a group of 13 people, middle school students in the back and three in front holding puppies. All are smiling.
