Fourth-grade teachers at Circleville Elementary School – Kaylin Bourke, Lisa Quick, Andrea Urmston and Maria Gabrell – challenged their students to an early STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) exploration to “Help Harry.”
The students had to create a safe perch where Harry could look out over the classroom. They were limited to a few items – pipe cleaners, aluminum foil, tape, cupcake papers and index cards – and some industrious students even used the paper bag the supplies came in!
Using the Engineering Design Process (EDP) and their teamwork skills, the students succeeded in helping Harry to safety!
