It is a fundamental goal of the Pine Bush Central School District to provide accurately-vetted information regarding health and safety issues that impact our students, staff, district families and the extended community.
Our hope is that providing this information promotes transparency as we work toward providing a safe, nurturing environment for our students. One of our objectives is to encourage conversation between parents/guardians and their children about what is appropriate and acceptable communication on social media and within their social groups.
On Friday, Sept. 23, a family conversation ended up providing the district with a report of an inappropriate photo posted online. The photo featured four Pine Bush High School students, two of whom appeared to be holding guns. This photo was taken off campus.
Please know that at no time were there any threats directed toward district schools or individuals from today’s incident.
Our high school and district administrators worked with the Town of Crawford Police Department to assess and investigate the situation. The students involved will be held accountable per our district code of conduct and local law enforcement will continue to be involved in the investigation. Please be assured our district is taking every threat and potential threat seriously and that our schools continue to be safe.
