Attendance Initiative

Pine Bush Central School District Attendance Awareness Initiative

School attendance is essential to academic success, but too often, parents and students do not realize how quickly absences – excused as well as unexcused – can add up to academic trouble.

Chronic absence – missing 10 percent of the school year, or just 2 to 3 days every month – can translate into third graders unable to master reading, sixth graders failing courses and ninth graders dropping out of high school.

The good news is we can solve this problem when we all work together. Please take a look at the resources listed here to learn more about this problem and what you can do to do your part.

Please be aware that all schools will automatically send letters home every trimester (elementary) and quarter (middle school and high school) to parents of students that miss 10 percent of the possible days.
