PBE hosts living museum as students delve into historical figures

Aaron Judge, Abraham Lincoln, Sally Ride and Dolly Parton shared the same stage at Pine Bush Elementary School as fourth-grade students participated in their annual Living Museum just before the December break.

A boy dressed with a blue shirt with NY on it and a cap stands in front of a trifold poster that says Aaron Judge 99 with pictures an dinformation about him.

Students chose an array of historical figures, from our nation’s history, to sports and entertainment, science and space, as well as those who helped shape our society.

A fourth-grade girl smiles. She is wearing an orange and blue astronaut suit and stands in front of a poster about Sally Ride.

Families were invited in to see the culmination of the students’ hard work.

The children chose an historical figure and set out to learn all about them. The wrote a biography of the person and then for the day of the museum, many dressed as their chosen person. They decorated large tri-fold display boards with pictures and information about the person and were ready to give a brief presentation when a visitor came by and requested it.

A fourth-grade boy wears an astronaut costume complete with a rocket on his back and orange ad red and yellow flames comin gout of the bottom. He is talking to a woman and they are standing in front of a board that has information about Gus Grissom on it.

The students certainly knew their characters! Even after giving their presentations, some took questions and could answer even more about their chosen person.

A fourth-grade boy dressed in a white lab coat with a big black mustache and crazy white hair stands in front of a poster board that says Albert Einstein with pictures of the scientist and information about him.

What an amazing way to learn about people who made such an impact on our country and our world.
