Samuel Cerone, a senior at Pine Bush High School, has been named a 2024 Presidents’ Award winner from the Lower Hudson Region of the New York State Media Arts Teachers Association.
High school seniors could submit a body of work to be considered for the special Presidents’ Award. Samuel did just that.
“Sam makes good use of lighting, composition and editing techniques that mimic the visual language of cinema,” said Diane Trad, art department chairperson for the district. “His work evokes mood and atmosphere, similar to what one might experience in a movie. It’s no wonder he’s headed to Buffalo to major in film. He is well deserving of this award.”
This award was given to students whose entire body of work shows noteworthy content, a creative approach, attention to composition, a command of craft, is visually and technically outstanding, or a Video/Film that was considered “visually or technically outstanding.”
