PBHS student Calvin Martin is the subject of NBC Nightly News story on AI program helping those with dyslexia

An NBC Nightly News team came to Pine Bush High School back in October to do a story about how artificial intelligence is helping students with dyslexia.

A high school student wearing a backpack and red hat, sits at a blue picnic table reading a book. A man wearing jeans and a black shirt and a baseball cap holds a camera while he films the kid.

Calvin Martin, a ninth-grader at PBHS, was diagnosed with the learning disability at nine years old. Calvin has been using an AI program called Dysolve to help him overcome the disability and read on grade level.

The story aired on Dec. 20, 2024. Click here to view the story.

Calvin and his dad, Michael Martin, talked with the NBC journalist Rehema Ellis about how the program has helped Calvin build his confidence and ace English. Michael Martin called it a “game-changer” for his son.

A man watches as a high school boy wearing a backpack and a red hat is filmed as he walks into his school.

Great job to Calvin and his family for sharing his story to help others.
