Creating word walls helps ENL students perfect their parts of speech

Katie Cavallucci’s English as a New Language (ENL) class at CVMS made a word wall with some common vocabulary to reference.

A middle school students draws on a poster board, writing Prepositions in large letters.

The students have been working on parts of speech, and Ms. Cavallucci broke them into groups and assigned a specific part of speech to each group – nouns, adjectives and prepositions.

Two middle school students hold a large poster with the heading prepositions and lists of words on it.

Two middle school students hold a poster that lists and shows pictures of nouns.

Two middle school students hold a poster that lists adjectives.

They worked together making posters, listing the words and drawing or printing corresponding pictures.

A wall with many different flags of countries up top and posters with words on them below. They have nouns, adjectives and prepositions on them.

It was  a very creative way to learn and study the different parts of speech.
