  • Continuing Education classes will not be held if Pine Bush schools are closed or after-school activities are cancelled.

Children’s Programs

Learn to Swim at PAK Pool

Children Ages 2-12

Mike Reineke

There will be two sessions of swim lessons. Each session has eight 45-minute classes. Students will meet twice per week at the Pakanasink Elementary School pool. Classes offered on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. No pre-evaluation is necessary. All swim levels available at each class. Space is limited.

Level 1- Beginner Swimming
(Suggested Age 2-6)

Meet in the Kiddie Side of the pool. Caters to brand new swimmers and those not comfortable with water.

Level 2- Novice Swimming
(Suggested Age 4-8)

Meet in the Shallow End of the pool. Focuses on swimmers who are comfortable in the water but need some assistance.

Level 3- Intermediate Swimming
(Suggested Age 5-10)

Meet in the middle side of the pool. Aimed at swimmers who can swim independently but need work on stroke technique, endurance, and comfort in deep water.

Level 4- Advanced Swimming
(Suggested Age 6-12)

Meet in the deep end of the pool. Designed for swimmers who
are capable but need stroke refinement. Passing this level is adequate preparation for competitive swimming.

Football Youth Mini Camp 

Grades 3-8

Football 101: Grades 3-5

If your player is just getting into football, looking to build their skill level, or
get ahead for the upcoming season – this camp is for you.  It's designed
to go over and review basics of positioning and rules, to conditioning specific drills that will assist any young player in upping their game.  T-Shirt included.

Football 102: Grades 6-8

This program is designed to prepare players looking to advance their knowledge and experience within the sport of football. Focus will be on skill development, positional specific drill work aligned with our offensive and defensive focuses in PB football program.  As well as drills tailored to take your game to the next level. T-Shirt included.

Girls and Boys Basketball

Grades 1-6

Learn and improve your basketball skills, including footwork, dribbling,
finishing and overall Basketball IQ.  Sessions will include skills, drills, games and competition.
Equipment needed: Basketball, athletic wear, indoor sneakers

Boys and Girls Running Club

Grades K-5

A two-day-a-week program geared towards learning the basics of running. Children learn how to pace themselves and set goals, while interacting with peers playing team building games. T

Boys and Girls Youth Wrestling

Grades 2-8

Patrick Sause

One season of wrestling can help anyone build self-confidence, mental
toughness, physical fitness, discipline, body awareness, and coordination. In class, students will learn fundamental moves, advanced techniques, and strategies, along with the importance of sportsmanship. We thoroughly cover the proper rules, positions, procedures and scoring. Varsity and JV wrestlers will assist the coaches.

Girls Basketball

Grades 5-6

Madison Van Pelt

This class will help improve basketball skills and game IQ. We will focus
on learning techniques and refining fundamentals of basketball: passing,
dribbling, shooting and overall game play. Equipment needed: Women’s basketball size 28.5, athletic wear and sneakers.

Volleyball Kids

Grades 3-7

This is an instructional program, which will emphasize proper techniques, skills, and tactics. All skill levels welcome. Each session will end with games to
practices skills learned. T-Shirt included.

Crochet 4 Beginners

Grades 4-6

In this class we will learn how to start foundation chains, magic rings, single, double and triple crochet.  We will work on making a Granny square to incorporate all the skills we have learned in class.  Materials needed: Red Heart Super Saver Yarn ( up to 4 colors) , crochet hook size I (5.5mm), size J (6.0mm), yarn needle and stitch marker.  Please make sure to have a bag to hold all your supplies.

Sourdough Bread Baking, Beyond the Basics

Ages: 14+

In this class we will focus on Sourdough inclusions to increase the variety in your Sourdough bread baking. We will also learn to make cinnamon rolls and pizza in class. Instructor will provide starter. Materials needed for class: Medium or large bowl, tea towel and scraper spatula.

S.T.E.M and Robotics Club

STEM concepts and creativity are combined together in this action-packed program where kids learn real-life skills while having real-kid fun! Kids will be engaged in project-based learning using STEM activities and DASH & DOT robots that are smart to respond to voices and sound and can be programmed to sing and dance. Kids will be encouraged to design, build and program their creations embedding creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communications! (6 weeks)

Lego Tinker Club

Unique theme-focused and STEM-based fun Lego activities each week. Calling all Lego enthusiasts to join us for our super engaging six-week Lego Tinker Club. We inspire curious minds to build engineering models; we help you model your idea; we enable you to have an enriching experience; we encourage you to practice Lego building and team working skills; we challenge you to use your knowledge, cognitive and technical skills while creating and playing with fun Lego models! (6 weeks)

Stability Ball Workout

This class is customized to help you improve all-over flexibility, core
strength, posture, balance, and coordination with the stability ball.
Incorporating the hand weights to our routine we develop strength, toning
and muscle.  A stability ball workout will make things more interesting
and effective by engaging different muscles. (8 weeks)
Equipment needed for this class: Inflated 65cm stability ball, hand
weights and mat.

Pickleball for Beginners (Adult)

Learn how to play pickleball, the fastest-growing sport in the country. This class will teach you the rules and basic elements of the game and offer the opportunity to play games for fitness and fun with others at the same level of experience. (8 weeks)

Intermediate Pickleball (Adult)

Come out for a fun night of pickleball! Players should demonstrate a basic knowledge of the game including rules, scoring, and possess the ability to serve/return balls consistently. Players will learn the fundamentals of dinking and third shot drops. (8 week)

Latin Dancing – Beginners

Do you enjoy dancing?  Come join us in learning the exotic dancing of Salsa, Merengue and Bachata. Learn these fascinating dances and allow yourself to express yourself through your movement. Partner or not, Latin dancing is a great activity to learn at any age, so put on your dancing shoes and come shake your hips.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification

The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training class gives you the skills and knowledge to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The Lifeguard Training Class includes CPR Training for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid Training. Lifeguard Certification is valid for two years. Minimum age is 15 before the completion of class. Limit 12.

American Red Cross – Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED

This course teaches students critical skills and knowledge needed to respond to and manage an emergency until EMS arrives. Course content includes first aid basics, such as burns, cuts and scrapes; medical injury and environmental emergencies; and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help both adult and pediatric victims using CPR/AED. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a certification card for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. Students may purchase the book and/or a CPR mask for an additional fee. Call the continuing ed. office for more information. Limit 12 (Blended Learning Online)

Yoga

Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, you will leave this
class with a better-feeling body and quieter mind. You will learn deep, effective stretches and breathing practices that deeply relax body and mind. Bring a mat and blanket. (8 weeks)
