The New York Jets held their second annual girls flag football media day at Metlife Stadium. Approximately 60 teams took part in this event, including six from Section IX. Shea Toback and Christine Omosebi represented Pine Bush High School, along with Coach Kyle Schneider. The girls got to take professional pictures with props, a tour of the locker room, and design new uniforms.
The players also got to hear from two members of the USA National Flag Football team, Isabella Geraci and Deliah Autry, who will compete in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
The day ended with each team going up on stage to a press conference-style setting and answering questions on the upcoming season as well as the state of girls flag football.
Each high school in attendance got to bring one coach and two players from their team. The girls also left with a Nike duffel bag, courtesy of the Jets.
“It was an amazing experience and great to see how much attention this growing sport is getting,” said coach Kyle Schneider. “This was a day that those girls will never forget and I am glad I was a part of it.”
The Mid-Hudson News published a story last week about flag football, featuring Coach Schneider and a picture of Christine Omosebi, noting she is one of the top flag football players in Section IX.
