SUBJECT:    ADMINISTRATIVE/SUPERVISORY POSITIONS

 

Assistant Superintendents

 

The Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services will be responsible for all phases of the District’s business activity, as set forth in Section 5000 of the Policy Manual, and will report directly to the Superintendent. The Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services will be responsible for all phases of the District’s instructional activities and will also report directly to the Superintendent.

 

Directors

 

The Directors report directly to the appropriate Assistant Superintendent and serve in areas of special responsibility in planning, coordinating, supervising, and directing the whole system as a unified enterprise under the direction of the Superintendent.

 

Building Principals

 

The building principals are the educational executives of the school centers. They have the responsibility for executing Board policies in the schools. They are directly responsible to the Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services.

 

Assistant Principals

 

Principals will be employed in the District’s schools. The assistant principal is responsible for all duties assigned to him or her by the building principal and will report directly to the principal.

 

Department Chairpersons/Academic Department Chairpersons

 

Department Chairpersons/Academic Department Chairpersons are staff officers who will have various ranges of responsibilities as indicated by their respective titles and job descriptions. They are directly responsible to the Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services.
