Edited to correct the number of years.
After 23 years working for the Pine Bush Central School District, I have made the decision to retire after the 2024-2025 school year. After sharing my plan with the Central Office leadership team, the superintendent, his team, and I had a discussion about creating a meaningful succession plan to ensure the programs that we have built together over the past two decades continue to grow and thrive.
I would like to truly thank the district leadership team and the board of education for allowing me to transition from being the high school principal to become the principal of STARS Academy beginning this July.
In addition to STARS, I will continue to oversee the CTE Advanced Manufacturing Program, the NASA HUNCH program, the Skilled Trades Academy, and the summer academy program. Furthermore, it is my plan to support and assist the new principal to ensure a smooth transition.
I have had the pleasure of working alongside an amazing faculty and staff who have helped me learn and grow as a leader. In addition, I can say unequivocally that I have been part of something really special over my career at Pine Bush High School. Together, we have made some amazing things happen for students. One of the things I will miss the most are the relationships that I have built with our students and our community over the past 23 years. I want to again share my heartfelt thanks for the many years of support, and for the many positive memories that I will take with me when I eventually retire.
Since I will be assuming this new role in July, the district will now be conducting a competitive search for an experienced and highly-qualified principal to continue to move the high school forward. Again, I want to thank the superintendent and the board of education for their continued commitment to excellence and for their vision in ensuring a smooth transition.
