Achieving in academics and sports, the board recognizes our fall scholar athletes

The board of education recognized the scholar athletes from the fall season on Jan. 14. A total of 104 athletes achieved the criteria, which requires a varsity athlete to maintain a grade point average of 90 or above during the fall athletic season.

In addition, there were eight scholar athlete teams this fall. To be named a scholar/athlete team, at least 75 percent of the athletes on the roster must maintain an average of 90 or above. Our scholar athlete teams are:

  • Boys Cross Country
  • Girls Cross Country
  • Field hockey
  • Boys Soccer
  • Girls Soccer
  • Girls Tennis
  • Girls Swimming and Diving
  • Volleyball

 

“This shows the commitment our athletes have in the classroom and athletically,” said Jennifer Evans, director of physical Education, Health and Athletics.

 

In addition, the board recognized the athletes and teams who qualified for county, section, regional and state honors.

Congratulations to all who worked so hard both in the classroom and on the field and court to achieve this honor!
