The day before the first day of the 2022-2023 school year, Superintendent Brian Dunn challenged staff at all Pine Bush schools to meet new goals for the district.
Dunn then outlined those goals for the board of education at its first meeting of the school year. The board responded by unanimously adopting them.
Here are the district goals for the 2022-2023 school year, as adopted by the Pine Bush Central School District Board of Education on Sept. 27, 2022.
Goal 1: Growing Proficiency:
ELA and Math Assessments
- 20 percent of grade 3-8 students at level 1 will improve to levels 2, 3 and 4
- 20 percent of grade 3-8 students at level 2 will improve to levels 3 and 4
Goal 2: Student Culture:
Reduction of Code of Conduct violations by 5 percent.
Goal 3: Attendance:
Reduce chronic absenteeism of students by 3 percent.
Goal 4: Equity:
The Pine Bush Board of Education will support equitable access and quality learning opportunities for every student, no matter who they are, where they live or where they come from.
“These goals are all interconnected,” said Superintendent Dunn. “Students learn best when they are present in school, when they feel safe, challenged and valued. We want to make sure all of our students are engaged and that they experience a strong sense of purpose and belonging in Pine Bush schools. We are up to this challenge.”
