The Board of Education will be asked to approve the minutes from the October 22, 2019 regular board meeting as submitted by the District Clerk.

 

III.  Reports, Recommendations of the Superintendent of Schools

Recommend the Board of Education approve the following Consent Agenda as submitted by the Superintendent of Schools: ON WEBSITE

2.            CSE and CPSE Placement Recommendation                                       

Recommend the Board of Education approve all IEPs of the Committee on Special Education and the Committee on Preschool Special Education as submitted by the CSE and CPSE Chairperson and reviewed by Trustee Johnson.

3.            Presentation: Pine Bush CSD – School Nutrition:

Lyn Prestia, Director of Food Service will be in attendance to provide an update to the Board of Education on School Food and Nutrition. A PowerPoint will be provided that evening.

4.            Approval of Overnight Trip Request

Recommend the Board of Education officially approve the following anticipated overnight trip request:

Overnight trip request submitted by Coach John Barth and Coach Kathy Gallagher on behalf of the Girls Varsity Swim/Dive members to travel to Ithaca College, Aquatic Center, Ithaca, NY to compete in the NYSPHAA Girls Swimming & Diving Championships. The trip was scheduled for Thursday, November 21, 2019 through Saturday, November 23, 2019. Eight  (8) student athletes and two (2) chaperones plan to attend, providing an approx. 4:1 student/chaperone ratio, with an approximate cost per student: $165 (District-funded, State Championship).

5.            Approval of Amended Policy for Second Reading and Adoption

                 Amended Policy 3120

Recommend the Board of Education approve amended Policy 3120 for second reading and adoption:

6.            Designation & Disposition of Surplus Library Books

Recommend the Board of Education designate and approve disposition of the following surplus Library Books:

Board designation of Library books as submitted at the request of Robin Ranahan, LMS, and Lisa Hankinson, Circleville Middle School Principal, as outdated and/or in poor condition, therefore, unusable in accordance with Policy #5250 SUBJECT: Disposition of Surplus Property, and authorizes the disposition of the books submitted under the direction of Michael Pacella, Assistant Superintendent for Business.

3.  Correction of Errors / Tax Warrant

Recommend the Board of Education approve the following correction of error submitted on November 12, 2019 as follows:

Owner:  John Cieslewitz  207 King Rd.  Middletown, NY 109306
            
According to documentation received on October 10, 2019 from the Town of Wallkill Assessor’s Office, this parcel owner is approved for a refund. The property was to be sold and built upon, but was not and the rollback should have been pulled from the Agricultural processing.

Owner paid the taxes accordingly. With your approval, we will refund the exemption of $2348.17 as the parcel remains unchanged.

4.   Tax Collector’s Report – 2019

On Tuesday evening, the Board of Education will be asked to adopt a resolution relieving the tax collector of the responsibility for the uncollected portion of the tax lists now that the tax warrant period has ended, and authorize her to turn the lists of delinquent tax items with three percent penalty over to the offices of the County Treasurers.

 The Tax Collector’s Summary Report:  Board members are required to sign all unpaid tax reports in acknowledgment.

Recommend the Board of Education acknowledge receipt and acceptance of the 2019 Tax Collector’s Summary Report and approve the following resolution for adoption:

RESOLVED, whereas the Education Law provides that the tax collector shall be relieved of responsibility for the uncollected portion of the tax list when a complete list of delinquent tax items have been certified to the Board of Education, and, since the collector has affixed her affidavit to such statement and has filed a statement accounting for the handling of the warrant; and,

WHEREAS, the clerk acknowledges receipt of the signed report of the tax collector to be submitted to the board;

 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education accept the Report of the Tax Collector and having determined that the collector has accounted for the full amount of the tax warrant, directs that the lists of delinquent tax items with the three percent penalty, be certified to the offices of the County Treasurers and/or  other tax enforcement officers.
