The Board of Education will be asked to approve the minutes from the regular board meeting of February 1, 2022 as submitted by the District Clerk.

 

III. Reports, Recommendations of the Interim Superintendent of Schools

1. Consent Agenda

Recommend the Board of Education approve the following Consent Agenda as submitted by the Interim Superintendent of Schools: ON WEBSITE

2. CSE and CPSE Placement Recommendation

Recommend the Board of Education acknowledge receipt and acceptance of the Committee on Special Education and Committee on Preschool Special Education placement recommendations as submitted by the CSE & CPSE Chairpersons, and reviewed by Trustee Tompkins.

3. Designation / Disposition of Library Books

Recommend the Board of Education designate and approve the disposition of the following:

Library books as submitted at the request of Robin Renahan, Library Media Specialist and submitted by Lisa Hankinson, Principal, as outdated and/or in poor condition beyond repair, therefore, unusable in accordance with Policy #5250 SUBJECT: Disposition of Surplus Property, and authorizes the disposition of the books as submitted under the direction of Michael Pacella, Assistant Superintendent for Business.

4. Designation / Disposition of Textbooks

Recommend the Board of Education designate and approve the disposition of the following:

Textbooks as submitted by Lisa Hankinson, Principal of Circleville Middle School, as outdated and/or in poor condition beyond repair, therefore, unusable in accordance with Policy #5250 SUBJECT: Disposition of Surplus Property, and authorizes the disposition of the books as submitted under the direction of Michael Pacella, Assistant Superintendent for Business

5. Approval of Policy 7240, Policy 7420, Policy 7511 for First Reading

Recommend the Board of Education approve the below listed policies for first reading:

6. Approval of Policy 6215, Policy 6411, and Policy 6550 for Second Reading and Adoption

Michael Pacella, Assistant Superintendent for Business will present PowerPoints regarding the 2022-2023 Budget with John Hicks, Director of Educational Technology presenting on Technology and Kurt Wickham, Supervisor of Transportation presenting on Transportation.

8. Approval of the Amended 2022-2023 School District Calendar

Recommend the Board of Education approve the Amended 2022-2023 calendar as submitted by the Interim Superintendent of Schools.

9. Approval of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Pine Bush Teachers Association (PBTA)

Recommend the Board of Education approve the following resolution:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education (“Board”) of
the Pine Bush Central School District (“District”) does hereby approve the Memorandum of Agreement (associated with substitute pay) between the District and The Pine Bush Teachers’ Association (“Union”),
as attached hereto; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board authorizes the Interim Superintendent to Execute said agreement Between the District and the Union pursuant to the Memorandum of Agreement on file with the District Clerk.

10. Orange-Ulster BOCES Board Candidates – Consideration of Nomination

This year, three Orange-Ulster BOCES board members terms expire. To date, we have received, per Orange-Ulster BOCES, three letters of interest to fill these three open seats. If Pine Bush would like to nominate anyone as a candidate for the Orange-Ulster Cooperative Board, a motion must be called and voted upon. Nominations of candidates must be submitted to OU BOCES no later than March 22, 2022.

The following individuals have submitted letters:

  • Edwin A. Estrada/ Middletown City SD
  • David Eaton/Warwick Valley CSD

The Contract Changed as follows;

  • Deduct Change Order for unused supervision days (44.6 days)
  • Change Order Amount – ($39,845.19) Credit
  • The Original Contract Sum was $ 3,753,720.34
  • Net change by previously authorized change order was $ 0.00
  • The Contract Sum prior to this Change Order was $ 3,753,720.34
  • The Contract Sum will be decreased by this Change Order in the amount of $ 39,845.19
  • The new Contract Sum including this Change Order will be $ 3,713,875.15
