CONSENT AGENDA

 

Recommend the Board of Education approve the following Consent Agenda as submitted by the Superintendent of Schools:

Tonight’s consent agenda includes the appointment of the following new personnel:

  • Karen Lisa – School Psychologist
  • Heather Pirillo – Teacher
  • Brenda Stack – Teacher

 

Creations

Instructional

Authorize the creation of the following positions as per the approved 2021-2022 budget/board approved:

  •  (2) Two Full-time 1.0 FTE Spanish Teacher positions, effective August 30, 2021, salary as per contract

 

Resignations  

Instructional

  • Eric Moller, resignation, for the purpose of retirement, from his position as a 1.00 FTE Science Teacher-Secondary, effective at the close of business on June 30, 2021. 

 

Leave of Absence

  • Dina Dinoto, an unpaid leave of absence from her position as a 1.00 FTE Teacher-Elementary effective June 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021.  

 

Appointments 

Administrative

  • Jennifer Fitzgerald, who holds an Initial certificate in School Building Leader, be appointed as a 1.0 FTE Leave Replacement in the position Elementary Assistant Principal-12 Month at the Pine Bush Elementary School for the period of July 01, 2021 and ending June 30, 2022.  Salary for the 2021-2022 school year will be $128,585.

 

Instructional

  • Karen Lisa, who holds a Permanent certificate in School Psychologist, be appointed to the position of a 1.0 FTE School Psychologist in the tenure area of School Psychologist for a two year probationary period commencing August 30, 2021 and ending August 29, 2023.  Salary level MA30, Step 7 of the salary schedule.

Be it further resolved that, to the extent applicable under Education Law Section 3012-d and the accompanying Commissioner’s Regulations, in order to be considered for tenure, Karen Lisa must have received an APPR rating of effective or highly effective in three of the four preceeding years before August 29, 2023, and must not receive an ineffective in the final year of the probationary period/Receiving Jarema Credit for prior service.

  • Rachel Johnson, who holds an Initial certificate in Students with Disabilities 1-6, be appointed to the position of 1.0 FTE Permanent Substitute Teacher in the Special Education (General) tenure area at the  for the period of August 30, 2021 and ending June 30, 2022.  Salary level BA30, Step 2 of the salary schedule.  
  • Heather Pirillo, who holds an Initial certificate in Childhood Education 1-6 and Students with Disabilities 1-6, be appointed to the probationary position of a 1.0 FTE Teacher-Elementary in the tenure area of Elementary for a four year probationary period commencing August 30, 2021 and ending August 29, 2025.  Salary level BA, Step 2 of the salary schedule.

Be it further resolved that, to the extent applicable under Education Law Section 3012-d and the accompanying Commissioner’s Regulations, in order to be considered for tenure, Brenda Stack must have received an APPR rating of effective or highly effective in three of the four probationary years and must not receive an ineffective in the fourth year.

  • Brian Shaw, who holds a Permanent certificate in Music, be appointed to a part-time, non-tenure bearing position of 0.3 FTE Teacher in the Music tenure area effective August 30, 2021 and ending June 30, 2022.  Salary for the 2021-2022 school year will be level MA, Step 3 of the salary schedule. 
  • Jennifer Schiesser, who holds a Permanent certificate in Pre-K-6, be appointed to a part-time, non-tenure bearing position of 0.5 FTE Teacher in the Elementary tenure area effective August 30, 2021 and ending June 30, 2022.  Salary for the 2021-2022 school year will be level MA, Step 6 of the salary schedule. 
  • Helen Yankanin, who holds a NYSED Occupational Therapist Registration Certificate, be appointed to a part-time 0.6 FT Occupational Therapist, effective August 30, 2021 through June 30, 2022. Salary for the 2021-2022 school year will be level BA, Step 26 of the salary schedule. 

 

Dignity for All Coordinator and Lead Evaluator Designations- 2020-2021 School Year

Board approval to amend the appointment of the DASA Coordinator for EJ Russell Elementary School for the 2020-2021 as follows:

  • Anthony Muia as the Dignity for All Building Coordinator at EJ Russell Elementary School effective, June 11, 2021.

 

Board approval recognizing the following administrator having completed the professional development associated with supervision as prescribed by the APPR regulation and, as such, be designated as Lead Evaluators, effective June 11, 2021.

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a federally funded, state-administered program that reimburses operators who serve free healthy meals to children 18 and under in approved locations.  These meals are provided and are prepared by the Pine Bush School Nutrition Department.
