Recommend the Board of Education approve the following Consent Agenda as submitted by the Superintendent of Schools:

Tonight’s consent agenda includes the appointment of the following new personnel for introductions:

  • Marissa Schellace – Literacy/AIS Teacher 
  • Michelle Jollie – Teaching Assistant
  • Shaina Proietti – Science Teacher
  • Cameron Hadden – Food Service Helper
  • Sharon Thiers – Food Service Helper
  • Cindy Brengard – Food Service Helper
  • Amy Barber – Food Service Helper
  • Candice Galvazzi – Food Service Helper
  • Tiaisha Villafane – School Monitor

 

Resignations

Instructional

  • Elizabeth Dingee, resignation, for the purpose of retirement, from her position as a 6.0 hours/day Teaching Assistant, effective at the close of business December 2, 2019.
  • Tara Thompson resignation from her position as a 4.0 hours/day Teaching Assistant effective at the close of business October 18, 2019.  
  •  Marissa Schellace, resignation from her position as a 0.5 FTE Teacher-Elementary, effective at the close of business on November 12, 2019. 
  • Beth Ebert, resignation, for the purpose of retirement, from her position as a 1.0 FTE Secondary Teacher (Home Economics), effective at the close of business November 13, 2019.

 

Leave of Absence

Non-Instructional

  • Kim McNamara, request for an unpaid leave of absence from her position as a 5.0 hours/day School Monitor effective October 18, 2019 through November 7, 2019. 
  • Dorota Dziadosz, request for an extension of the unpaid leave of absence from her position as a 4.5 hours/day School Monitor effective November 4, 2019 through November 26, 2019, and amend the initial leave (September 3, 2019 through November 1, 2019) to reflect the position hours of 4.5 not 4.0 as previously listed.

 

Appointment

Instructional

  • Michelle Jollie, who holds a Teaching Assistant Level I certificate, be appointed on probation as a part-time, non-tenure bearing, 6.75 hours/day Teaching Assistant, effective November 13, 2019, salary as per contract (pro-rated).     
  • Marissa Schellace, who holds an Initial certificate in Literacy (Birth-6), be appointed to the position of 1.0 FTE Permanent Substitute Teacher in the Remedial Reading tenure area for the period of November 13, 2019 and ending June 30, 2020.  Salary Level MA, Step 1 of the salary schedule (pro-rated). 
  • Shaina Proietti, who holds an Initial certificate in Biology 7-12, be appointed to the position of 1.0 FTE Permanent Substitute Teacher in the Science tenure area, for the period of November 18, 2019 and ending June 30, 2020.  Salary Level BA, Step 1of the salary schedule (pro-rated). 

 

Non-Instructional

  • Cameron Hadden, probationary appointment to a 3.25 hours/day position of Food Service Helper, effective November 13, 2019 salary as per contract (pro-rated). 
  • Edna Hough, approval for an increase in hours for (from 3.5 hours/day) to a 5.0 hours/day in her position of Food Service Helper, effective November 13, 2019, salary as per contract (pro-rated).
  • Debra Lapinski, increase in hours (from 4.0 hours/day) to a 6.0 hours/day position of Food Service Helper, effective November 13, 2019, salary as per contract (pro-rated).
  • Lisa Iannella, increase in hours (from 3.5 hours/day) to a 5.0 hours/day position of Food Service Helper, effective November 13, 2019, salary as per contract (pro-rated).
  •  Sharon Thiers, probationary appointment to a 3.0 hours/day position of Food Service Helper, effective November 13, 2019, salary as per contract (pro-rated).        
  • Cindy Brengard, probationary appointment to a 3.0 hours/day position of Food Service Helper, effective November 13, 2019, salary as per contract (pro-rated).        
  • Amy Barber, probationary appointment to a 3.5 hours/day position of Food Service Helper, effective November 13, 2019, salary as per contract (pro-rated).        
  • Candice Gavazzi, probationary appointment to a 3.5 hours/day position of Food Service Helper, effective November 13, 2019, salary as per contract (pro-rated).        
  • Michael Reineke, temporary appointment as a 7.0 hours/day Lifeguard, effective December 02, 2019 through April 3, 2020, salary at $16/hour, noting he is certified for such appointment through the Orange County Department of Human Resources.
  • Tiaisha Villafane, probationary appointment to a 6.5 hours/day position of School Monitor, effective November 15, 2019, salary as per contract (pro-rated). Such appointment is conditioned upon the District’s receipt of clearance for employment from the N.Y. State Education Department relating to the fingerprinting and criminal history record check of the prospective school employees. The emergency conditional segments of the appointments shall commence as of November 15, 2019 and shall not exceed twenty (20) business days.

 

Co-Curricular Appointments

Sixth-Period Assignment

Pine Bush High School             

Board approval of the following instructional staff member teaching a sixth period/additional assignment for the 2019-2020 school year at an annual contractual stipend of $5,500:  

  • Erin Crispell, Special Education

 

Board approval to amend the following co-curricular appointment for the 2019-2020 school year at the appropriate co-curricular stipend:

Pine Bush High School Options Program  2019 – 2020

Board approval for the appointment of the following individuals as per diem, hourly instructional staff members for the 2019 – 2020 Options Program, effective November 18, 2019 through June 16, 2019 (Monday through Thursday), 2:30 PM – 5: 15 PM, at contract hourly wage of $40/per hour.
