III.    Reports, Recommendations of the Superintendent of Schools

1.     Consent Agenda

Recommend the Board of Education approve the following Consent Agenda as submitted by the Superintendent of Schools: ON WEBSITE

 

2.    CSE and CPSE Placement Recommendations                                     

Recommend the Board of Education approve all IEPs of the Committee on Special Education and the Committee on Preschool Special Education as submitted by the CSE and CPSE Chairperson and reviewed by Trustee Watkins.

 

  3.    Acknowledge Receipt and Acceptance of External Auditors’ Report

Jennifer Capicchioni will be in attendance, virtually, Tuesday evening to present to the Board of Education the Audit Report for Year Ending June 30, 2020, including reports on federal awards and extraclassroom activity fund as submitted, and the District’s responses to the management letter, as well as address any questions.

 

Board of Education’s Receipt and Acceptance of Audit Report for Year Ending June 30, 2020 and District Responses.

The Board of Education (upon the recommendation of the Audit Committee on 10/5/2020) will be asked to officially acknowledge receipt and acceptance of the Audit Report for Year Ending June 30, 2020, including reports on federal awards and extraclassroom activity fund as submitted by Nugent and Haeussler, and the District’s  response to the management letter, as submitted.

4.  BOE Adoption of District-wide Health and Safety Plan for 2020-2021

Recommend the Board of Education adopt the District-wide School Safety Plan for the 2020-2021 school year, as reviewed and submitted by the District’s Health, Safety, and Wellness Committee at the September 22, 2020 meeting and public hearing.  

 

5.     Return to Learn Update

District administration will provide a Return to Learn update.

6.   Acknowledge and Acceptance of MOA with the School Related Professional Association (PBSRPA)

Recommend the Board of Education acknowledge receipt and acceptance of the following resolution:

                NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education (“Board”) of the Pine Bush Central School District (“District”) does hereby acknowledge and accept the Memorandum of Agreement (associated with unit member lay-offs, recalls, health insurance, compensation) the District and the School Related Professionals Association (“PBSRPA” ) dated September 30, 2020,  as attached hereto; and

                                BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board acknowledges that the Superintendent is appropriate to execute said agreement Between the District and the PBSRPA pursuant to the Memorandum of Agreement on file with the District Clerk.

7.     Designation / Disposition of Library Books and Equipment

Recommend the Board of Education designate and approve the disposition of the following books and equipment:

  • Library  books as submitted at the request of Aubrey Zamonsky, Library Media Specialist and submitted by Brian Breheny, Principal, as outdated and/or in poor condition beyond repair, therefore, unusable in accordance with Policy #5250 SUBJECT: Disposition of Surplus Property, and authorizes the disposition of the books as submitted under the direction of Michael Pacella, Assistant Superintendent for Business.
  • Equipment for disposition as submitted at the request of Lyn Prestia, as outdated and/or in poor condition beyond repair, therefore, unusable in accordance with Policy #5250 SUBJECT: Disposition of Surplus Property, and authorizes the disposition of the following equipment as submitted under the direction of Michael Pacella, Assistant Superintendent for Business.

2.  Board Approval of Resolutions for the Sale of the Permanent Easement

Recommend the Board of Education approve the following resolutions:

Pine Bush Central School District

BOARD RESOLUTION (1)

WHEREAS, the New York State Department of Transportation (“NYSDOT”) is seeking to purchase a permanent easement of 459 sq.ft. trapezoidal shaped property owned by the Pine Bush Central School District (“District”) located at 77 Maple Ave., depicted on the map 88, parcel 89 attached hereto (“Easement”); and

WHEREAS, the NYSDOT is purchasing the permanent easement in furtherance of its project for the construction and reconstruction of ADA compliant sidewalks known as Project SH45, Middletown and Pine Bush Highway, Part 1, Pin 8813.18.221; and

WHEREAS, after an appraisal of the subject property, the District and the NYSDOT have agreed that the acquisition value of the easement is $1,350.00; and

WHEREAS, the sale of a permanent easement is a Type II Action under the New York State Environmental Conservation Law 617.5(c)(10), as a routine activity of an educational institution.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Pine Bush School District does hereby determine that the 459 sq. ft. Section of District property that is the subject of the permanent easement is no longer in use for school district purposes; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Education does hereby approve the sale of the permanent easement as depicted on the attached map in the amount of $1,350 to the State of New York for the proposed project; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board hereby authorizes the Superintendent or his designee to execute all Agreements and documents necessary to effectuate such sale and payment for the permanent easement.
