CES kindergarten students celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and winter

The kindergarten classes at Circleville Elementary School entertained parents and friends on Friday, Jan. 17, with their concert, “Songs of Peace and Winter.”

The stage is decorated with large peace signs. About 35 kindergarten students are on the stage singing.

Many of their songs focused on the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his message of peace and unity. The songs included “This Little Light of Mine,” Peace, Peace, We Want Peace” and “Freedom, Freedom, Let It Ring.”

Four kindergarten students - three girls and one boy - sit on the stage singing.

The second part of the concert was about winter. Their songs included a twist on the song “If All the Raindrops,” substituting snowflakes for the raindrops, “Ready for Snow,” a fun take on how long it takes to get ready to play in the snow, and “Over the River and Through the Woods.” The concert concluded with “This Land is Your Land.”

A kindergarten student with shoulder-length curly hair smiles broadly while singing in the concert. He is wearing a bright red sweater.
