CES learns all about fire safety

October brings falling leaves, cooler temperatures, apple picking, pumpkins, and fire safety! Yes, October is Fire Safety Month and the students at Circleville Elementary School received a visit from fire fighters from Circleville Fire District, Silver Lake Fire District, and Bullville Fire District.

A group of elementary students sit and listen as fire fighters show equipment from their fire truck. There is a red fire truck in the back ground.

Students in each grade had a demonstration by the fire fighters, showing them the equipment on each fire truck and what it is used for, as well as getting instruction on important things like sleeping with their bedroom door closed, the importance of having a meeting spot should a fire break out in their house, and what to do should a fire emergency happen.

Two elementary girls stand on top of a fire truck with a firefighter standing with them.

The students had the opportunity to go into the fire trucks and some got to wear the very heavy fire helmet!

An elementary age boy sits on the ground. He is wearing a black shirt with blue stripe across it and he is smiling. He has a big fire helmet on his head.

Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 took part in the annual poster contest.

Three elementary students stand holding their posters. They are in front of a red and white fire truck. Next to them is a fire fighter on either side. On the right there are two adults.

A big thank you from the Circleville Elementary School  community for all of our volunteers in the fire districts! We so appreciate you – you’re making such a difference!
