CES students create mural honoring Black Americans

Third, fourth and fifth-graders at Circleville Elementary School collaborated for an amazing project for Black History Month in February, that also carries through for Women’s History Month in March. Katie Galt, the librarian at Circleville Elementary School, gave each student a piece of the puzzle that would be put together to create a mural showcasing accomplished Black men and women in American history.

A mural of Black Americans is on a long wall in a hallway.

Ms. Galt showcased Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. before they even started working on the mural to introduce the students to one of the individuals they would learn about throughout February and into March, where women are showcased.

Elementary students work on coloring a piece of a mural.
