CES takes on the Kid’s Heart Challenge

Students at CES kicked off the American Heart Association’s Kid’s Heart Challenge with an awesome and interactive assembly put on by Cara Donohoe, director of School Engagement for the American Heart Association. With the help of Jake Izzo and Janell Budd, CES’s physical education teachers, this assembly was put together to help kids understand the importance of the American Heart Association’s challenge to be active. All CES students are encouraged to sign up for the challenge!

Two sides of a large room are filled with elementary students sitting on the floor. At the front is a large screen and a woman talking about heart health.

Young elementary students hug a person who is dressed in a big red heart costume.

They also learned that a $5 donation could change someone’s life in such a positive way. The school goal is to raise $3,000 for the AHA. Big hugs to our favorite heart costume-wearing assistant principal Joe Prestianni, who doles out the love every day!

A woman with short blonde hair smiles as she poses with a person dressed in a big red heart costume.

A woman stands on the right making a heart sign with her hands and she has a headband on with two bouncy hearts on it. On the left is a person dressed in a big red heart costume, also making a heart with his hands.
