Hello Pine Bush families and staff,
Today I have a couple of kernels of new information plus several reminders.
The first piece of news is about our partnership with Garnet Health to offer the Pfizer vaccine on May 20 with a follow up shot three weeks later on June 10. Garnet Health has informed us they can also accommodate offering the vaccine to parents who accompany their children and to any of our staff who wants to sign up. We have created a new sign-up form for adults.
Tomorrow, Monday, May 17, is the deadline for both student and adult sign ups. For children ages 12-15, we also need their consent forms (consent form English and consent form Spanish) by tomorrow, either sent to school or scanned and emailed to the address on the website (consentform@pinebushschools.org) . Those students MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Students ages 16 and up still need the consent form as well, but they can bring it with them on each day of the vaccine. Students 16 and up do not need to be accompanied by a parent, but parents are still welcome to be present.
Tomorrow is also the beginning of the final phase of our Spring ’21 Return to More Learning. This coming week is the week that we begin offering in-person learning five days a week, so there will be no more Mobile Mondays for the rest of the school year.
In addition to the vaccines on Thursday, we have our school elections on Tuesday, May 18. Please come and vote on the school budget and for two of the three candidates running to serve on our Board of Education. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m.
At the end of this month everyone will have a four-day Memorial Day weekend. The district will be closed on Friday May 28 and Monday, May 31.
The day before that weekend, Thursday, May 27, will be the last day for our free children’s meal distribution.
And finally, the Intent to play registration for Fall Sports is now available on the ATHLETICS page of our district website. Look for the registration link to Family ID on that page.
That was a lot of information this afternoon. Thanks for listening and for supporting the Pine Bush Central Schools!
Have a great rest of your Sunday,
Tim Mains, Pine Bush Superintendent
