Congratulations to our latest Class of 2023 graduates! Seven seniors earned their diplomas on Thursday, Aug. 17, after completing their coursework. They were enthusiastically cheered by their family and friends as well as district officials.
Xangel Valentine Leppert Jones, Aleena E. Phillips, Josephine L. Rodriguez, Amy Jaskaran Singh and Jennifer M. Zamora Cela processed into the high school library to Pomp and Circumstance, wearing their caps and gowns. Their family members and friends eagerly awaited.
David Faro and Paul Thompson also earned their diplomas this summer.
STARS and Summer School Principal Andre Spinelli announced each of the students and congratulated them. “You made the decision to be here and you earned your high school diploma,” he said.
Board of education President Gretchen Meier expressed her pride for all of these new graduates.
“This is tremendous,” said Ms. Meier. “You made the decision to do this. You showed up. You took the time needed. You took the tests. This diploma will open doors for you and you will have the choice of which door to go through. I am so proud of all of you sitting here.”
Superintendent Brian Dunn emphasized their perseverance in achieving this milestone.
“The Pine Bush summer graduation is a unique and special event that we all agree symbolizes a deeply held belief that perseverance and grit are character traits that are highly valued in our community,” said Mr. Dunn. “I would like to acknowledge and celebrate Xangel Leppert Jones, Aleena Phillips, Josephine Rodriguez, Amy Singh, Paul Thompson, Jennifer Zamora Cela and David Faro for inspiring us all with their work ethic and commitment to realize their goal of graduating from Pine Bush High School. Great job to each of you and to your teachers as well.”
“You have done something special,” said Pine Bush High School Principal Aaron Hopmayer. “You have earned this opportunity. You represent the best of Pine Bush and we are proud as a community.”
