Crispell students dive into self-portraits

Terese Chaikin’s art classes at Crispell have been working on self-portraits. They uploaded three selfies from different angles – front, side and three-quarter view – to create their portrait.

A woman stands at the front of a classroom looking up at a screen that shows dimensions of a face. There are students sitting at their desks watching her.

Ms. Chaikin teaches about the proportions of the face and encourages her students to color them boldly. And that’s not the end of the project.

A middle school young woman with long sandy hair sits at a desk drawing. She is wearing a black shirt and has a Chromebook in front of her. There is another student sitting further down.

They then cut each view into three big pieces and create a Picasso-like portrait. That part is yet to be done. We will certainly show the finished products here!

Two middle school-age young men sit at a table drawing. They both have short hair and red shirts. There are Chromebooks on the desks.
