On Thursday evening, Feb. 1, 2024, Pine Bush Central School District administrators became aware of a verbal threat allegedly made by a student at Crispell Middle School earlier in the day.
Administrators immediately notified the Crawford Police Department, who launched their investigation. At the conclusion of their investigation, the police determined there was no immediate credible threat to the school or students.
The student who made the threatening comments will be disciplined as outlined in the district’s code of conduct.
We stress to our students the importance of reporting any threats or inappropriate comments to their parents, teachers or other adults. Those involved today did the right thing. It is what we ask our entire school community to do. We encourage parents and guardians to take this opportunity to speak to your children about the consequences of reckless speech and actions.
“The safety of our students and staff is always our priority,” said Assistant Superintendent Joseph Lenz. “We are grateful for the actions of the students and parents who alerted us to this incident and, of course, to our community partners, the Crawford Police Department, for their quick, reliable response and professionalism.”
