A Pine Bush tradition continues!
Wednesday evening, March 22, the district hosted the senior citizen dinner and spring show, welcoming 116 area seniors for a full turkey dinner, dessert and, of course, the spring musical, Rent.
Superintendent Brian Dunn welcomed the guests and thanked them for their support. He also thanked the 70 volunteers, all students and district staff members, as well as the Food Services employees who cooked delectable turkey, stuffing and sweet potatoes for the crowd. He gave a shout out to Robin Evans, the producer of the show, and Ralph Wagner, who did everything from setting up the lighting to conducting the pit orchestra!
After dinner, the guests enjoyed coffee, ice cream and cookies.
Barbara Evans and her friend, Donna, enjoyed their dinner and were happy to be there. Barbara has been a resident of the district for more than 40 years, with her two sons going through Pine Bush schools.
“This was lovely,” said Barbara, as she finished her dinner. “I’m looking forward to the show!”
FAME (Families Assisting Music Education) was on hand, raffling off gift baskets and spreading the word about the district’s amazing music education program.
Each year, tickets are distributed to seniors throughout the district. This year, there was a waiting list!
It was great to have the tradition back!
