This morning, Monday, March 11, at approximately 9:45 a.m. Pine Bush High School administrators issued a hold-in-place order, which limits movement throughout the building by students and staff.
There were two unrelated incidents of fighting in the building earlier in the morning. Another disruption ensued later when two of the same students involved in an earlier incident attempted to engage in another altercation with a student but were stopped by security and administrators.
There were no weapons involved; our security professionals followed the protocols we have in place. Keeping all students and staff in their classrooms during the incident was part of the protocol.
Administrators determined these altercations today were a result of community conflicts spilling into the building. We are grateful to our staff for containing these incidents.
The district will impose the maximum consequences as allowed in our district’s code of conduct, in accordance with New York State law, for the students involved. Fighting will not be tolerated. The safety of all our students and staff is always our priority.
