Fall in love with reading at the CES book fair

The book fair is here! Students at Circleville Elementary School are enjoying the annual Scholastic Book Fair. Located in the gym, classes came to peruse and buy biographies, fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, pens and pencils, diaries and much more. There was even a table of free books available to all students.

A group of six third-grade boys stand on either side of a large sign that says Fall in love with reading. There are yellow, orange, white and brown balloons along the top.

Students also had the opportunity to guess how many acorns were in the jar. The student who guesses closest to the correct answer will win a book and stuffed animal!

Children love to choose their own books. Allowing them the opportunity to buy their own books and build their library at home encourages them to read more! Reading more helps expand vocabulary and improve comprehension. It’s a total win!

The CES PTA also asks teachers for their wish lists – books they would love to have in their classrooms. This year, they have a beautiful display with a pocket for each teacher’s list. A big shout-out and thank you to Pine Bush High School student Amelia Aponte for creating it!

There are two more days left – the fair runs through Thursday, Sept. 19! Get reading!
