FAME (Families Assisting Music Education) held its annual awards ceremony and senior recital back in May. This was the first time in three years FAME was able to hold the entire event in person.
The students in grades 4 through 12 were honored for participating in all-county festivals, area all-state festivals, NYSBDA Festival, all-state, all-eastern and for performing NYSSMA solos this year. Graduating seniors were also honored. FAME awards two middle school scholarships each year. This year’s scholarship recipients were Samantha Parr from Crispell and Bryan Tique Diaz from CVMS. These students may use the scholarships to further their musical growth through lessons, camps, or other extracurricular programs.
FAME also awarded two scholarships to graduating seniors. Kiera Masci was awarded the Performance Scholarship and Madison Conklin was awarded the Service Scholarship.
Those who attended were treated to a recital of incredible performances by graduating seniors from both the instrumental and vocal programs.
FAME also announced a change to its leadership. After Participating with FAME for over 10 years, President Susan Sapio and Treasurer Theresa Caroselli stepped down from the board. The music department is truly grateful to them for staying on as officers, well after their children had graduated from PBHS. Newly elected co-presidents Lauren Masci and Robin Conklin, and treasurer Christine Forbes honored the two past officers for their time and commitment to FAME.
Congratulations to the FAME scholarship recipients, all of our talented musicians and the new FAME officers. The future of the Pine Bush music program sure is bright!
