Firefighters visit EJR and spread their knowledge

A big thank you to our Pine Bush Fire Department for coming over to EJ Russell Elementary School and talking to our students about fire safety.

A firefighter dressed in navy blue stands in front of a red firetruck. There is an entire class of smaller elementary students sitting on the concrete, spaced apart from each other, facing him and listening.

Two firefighters dressed in navy blue stand in front of a fire truck, which has its sides up and equipment showing. There are five elementary students standing at a distance from each other watching the men.

Students learned about “stop, drop and roll” and the importance of having a plan should a fire break out in their home. These wonderful volunteers showed the students the firefighting equipment and explained what each apparatus does. They took questions and our inquisitive students had plenty!

A man in a blue shirt points to gadgets on a fire truck as five elementary students watch. One girl with long dark hair points to something on the truck.

Our district thanks our firefighters for all they do to keep our community safe.
