Pine Bush honored four individuals who have made a tremendous impact on the Pine Bush athletic program over many years.
Jerry Risco, Al Schmidt, Jim Wright and Mark Brennan have devoted a combined 115 total years to the athletes in our district. All four are retiring from coaching.
Al Schmidt (not pictured) has been coaching at Pine Bus for the last 39 years. He has been a three-season coach of cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field every year. Al is also a Pine Bush alumnus.
Jerry Risco coached with Al for 30 years, all three seasons each year of cross country, and winter and spring track and field. Like Al, Jerry is a Pine Bush alum.
James Wright has coached football at Pine Bush for 26 years. He is a former Pine Bush player himself. While football was his primary sport to coach, Jim also coached tennis, track, wrestling and was the first ever unified basketball coach for the district.
Mark Brennan is the only varsity head coach in the Pine Bush boys’ lacrosse team history. He has been coaching for 20 years. He started the team and was responsible for getting the girls’ program running here. In addition to lacrosse, Mark has coached boys’ soccer and football.
We are grateful for the positive impact you have made on so many of our student athletes.
