Fourth-graders in Stacey Venzel’s class welcome a mystery reader

This year, Stacey Venzel’s fourth grade at PBE is again continuing with the Mystery Reader program. The class was excited—and surprised!—to welcome a fellow PBE student (and graduate of Ms. Venzel’s class) to the Mystery Reader chair!

Rylee Ortiz, a fifth-grader in Patricia. LoPresti’s class, read one of her favorite books, “Today I Feel Silly & Other Moods That Make My Day,” by Jamie Lee Curtis.

Rylee impressed the fourth-graders with her clear speech and strong voices that reflected what the characters were feeling. Students were stumped by the clues: this person loves stuffed animals, is someone most of you see every day whether you realize it or not, and wears glasses. The class guessed a few teacher-parents in the building, but not a student! Way to go, Rylee!
