Hannah Vendy and Alan Soto have been chosen as the Pine Bush High School Senior Scholar-Athletes for the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA).
Hannah is ranked 13th in the Pine Bush High School Class of 2021 with a 98.09 grade point average. She played field hockey and lacrosse for the Bushmen and in winter leagues, received the field hockey team award for most improved player and was selected for the Section IX field hockey all-star team honorable mention.
She is a member of the National Honor Society and has been named a New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) scholar athlete three times in her high school career.
Hannah plans to attend the University of Delaware in the fall, majoring in plant science.
Alan is a three-season runner – cross country, indoor track and outdoor track – throughout his high school career. He is ranked 15th in his senior class with a 97.5 grade point average.
He is a member of the National Honor Society and is the group’s secretary, and is a member of the student council, where he’s held the position of secretary for that group all four years of high school.
Alan was the cross country captain in both 11th and 12th grades, indoor track captain his junior year and outdoor track captain his senior year. He was named NYSPHSAA scholar athlete all four years, received the Cross Country Coaches Award and was named cross country freshman MVP.
In the fall, Alan will attend the University at Buffalo to major in computer science.
