It’s all about the eclipse for CES first graders

STEAM teacher Alyson Callahan came to visit Beverlyann Feuerstack and Maria Gabrell’s first-grade classes at CES to teach about the eclipse.

A teacher in a white astronaut costume stands in front of a classroom of students. Some of the elementary students are representing the earth, sun and moon for an eclipse lesson.

The students were amazed by the lesson, learning that the solar eclipse is the result of the moon coming in between the earth and sun and casting a tremendous shadow!

They also learned about the importance of wearing special eyewear to block the UV rays of the sun during the eclipse!

A woman with long dark hair smiles in front of a classroom. She is wearing a one-piece white astronaut outfit.

Such a wonderful, hands-on lesson for our students.

A classroom of first-graders listens to a teacher dressed as an astronaut, while others have a sun, moon or earth placard around their neck. This is a lesson about the eclipse.
