Fifth-grade band students in Jean Lubera’s classes at EJR haven’t yet had the
opportunity to practice their music together, since all elementary instrumental lessons are taking place virtually. But they have been busy at work learning the music and practicing!
In early December, they began learning the music to “Batter Up! A Sandlot Symphony for Beginning Band and Narrator” by David Shaffer. The students practiced and recorded the music in sections, individually, at home. They then submitted their recordings to Ms. Lubera who produced this video.
Since band begins in fifth grade, these students have never actually played music together in school. The entire project was done virtually!
