The second annual pumpkin carving contest at CVMS is in the books and Chris Canor retains his title as pumpkin carving champion!
Mr. Canor carved pumpkin #7 for the title, which is voted on by staff and students.
It all starts out as a class activity with Jennifer Kirby’s science classes and Ralph Villani’s math classes doing a math and science activity. The classes practiced their estimating skills, guessing their pumpkin’s height, circumference, weight and the number of seeds inside. After their estimations, the students did the actual measurements.
Then the pumpkins were ready for carving. This year, there were 13 pumpkins and 17 staff members who participated – some staff teamed up to carve their pumpkins together. Click here for the slide show of the carved pumpkins.
