There are some new faces on our teaching staff this year. Meet some of them here and give them a big Pine Bush welcome!
Alyssa DiMaio will be teaching physical education at Pakanasink starting this school year. She did her undergraduate studies at SUNY Cortland and her graduate work at East Stroudsburg University. In her spare times, Alyssa likes to hike, run, swim travel and play sports. “I am looking forward to meeting the students and getting to know them.”
Christina Karklin will be teaching pre-K at Pakanasink Elementary. Here she is with her one-year-old rescue pup, Daisy!
Andrew Murray will be teaching general music, chorus, and band for both Circleville and Pakanasink elementary schools. “I’m really looking forward to being able to give students a musical experience they will never forget! My mentors showed me that music can teach us more than just notes, rhythms, instruments, etc. They showed me that you can learn things such as math, science, history, culture, and ethnicity. But most importantly, once the students learn to read, speak, and write music, they are learning an entirely new language, and I cannot wait for them to walk out of school at the end of the year, more motivated than ever to pursue music!”
Sarah Ferry will be the assistive technology specialist for the district, traveling to all seven schools. “I grew up in and attended Pine Bush schools, so the thing that I am most looking forward to is being a part of the district and community that gave so much to me. I feel like I’m coming home! I’m excited to learn and to grow with staff, students, and the Pine Bush community alike.”
