On air at Crispell Middle School

‘The Wolf’ morning team made a stop at Crispell Middle School on Friday, Oct. 19, broadcasting their morning show from the Crispell gymnasium.

Principal John Boyle is interviewed by the Wolf morning team, that broadcast from Crispell Middle School on Oct. 19.

It was part of a program called “CJ & Jess Go Back to School” where the morning DJs on The Wolf 94.3/97.37 FM visit schools in the broadcast area. Assistant Principal Jennifer Lepore nominated Crispell and the school was chosen! Both Lepore and Principal John Boyle were interviewed by the hosts, answering questions about the school and its programs, including the Kindness Challenge and Red Ribbon Week.

Media students got the chance to watch the broadcast and even ask questions live on the air with the hosts. Here they pose with the hosts and Assistant Principal Jennifer Lepore.

Students and staff members had the opportunity to see up close how a radio program is broadcast – that was of particular interest to the 7th and 8th grade media classes and the school’s media club. Some students got to ask the DJs questions on air.

They had plenty of fun too. In addition to learning about broadcasting, many participated in “Frolic Friday” where they skipped the full length of the gym chanting “Frolic Friday.” The video clip is on The Wolf Facebook page and is worth a look.
