Pakanasink is taking the Kids’ Heart Health Challenge! Students in all grades are learning healthy habits to keep their hearts strong and they’re raising money for the American Heart Association in the process.
The students kicked off their month-long learning with some fun music and six activity stations in their physical education classes. First-grade students were eager to master those stations.
Station one was the rock wall, going sideways. It’s not an easy task! Stations two and five were basketball skills. Station three was hurdles to practice their jumping. Station four was the ever-popular jump rope. What fun! Station six was colorful stepping stones. The students had to get from front to back using only the stepping stones. No jumping allowed but it certainly tested their balance and agility.
Now they are halfway through this heart health month and learning so much about how to stay healthy .
