The Library Media Center provides support for the instructional program and quality resources for students and teachers. A certified library media specialist teaches the research process and assists students in locating and using those resources. Library orientation is given to incoming ninth grade students.
The library is open from 7:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. The library collection consists of approximately 20,000 items including an ebook collection of reference and non-fiction titles. The collection is catalogued and all resources can be searched through the online catalog.
The library publishes the Guide to Databases and Passwords and a Guide to Works Cited, which is available to all students and staff. The library subscribes to online databases, including some that are provided by the OUBOCES School Library system, and NOVELny, which is provided by New York State library funds. The library subscribes to approximately 30 periodicals including local and national newspapers.
Orange-Ulster BOCES serves as the gateway to the Internet and supports the library management system that provides computerized library circulation and holdings.
Library databases, the online catalog, and library policies can be accessed via the Pine Bush High School Library Web page.
The library contains one large conference room, one small conference room, and three computer labs. One lab is available for individual student and teacher use, and two are available for scheduled classes. Approximately 500 students and staff members use the library media center every day.
