Self-care and fun are the messages at Wellness Club

Kristin Raucci had a special guest at the most recent Wellness Club gathering. Retired Crispell math teacher and craft aficionado Betsy Byrnes joined her and a large group of students for some holiday crafts and self-care.

The students made hand warmers, relaxing reindeer bath, hot chocolate packets and stamped gift tags.

The room smelled amazing as the students used essential oils for the reindeer bath and hand warmers.

For the reindeer bath, they filled a piping bag with oatmeal, Epsom salts and baking soda. They added lavender essential oils and closed the bags with a twist tie. They decorated the piping bag to look like a reindeer!

The hand warmers were made with cozy socks. The students poured in rice and added either thieves, lavender or bergamot essential oils. They tied off the sock with curling ribbon and made a gift tag for it. Just pop it in the microwave to heat it up and enjoy the beautiful aroma and warmth.

The hot chocolate packets included an envelope of hot chocolate mix, marshmallows, candy canes and kisses. They tied them off with a gift tag they created with ink stampers.

It was a fun activity and reminded the students to take time for themselves and recharge when needed. And they make great homemade gifts for someone else!
