Sixth-grade students in Stacie Blaut’s science class at CVMS, both virtual and in person, recently took on the tower challenge. Their goal: construct a 12-inch free-standing tower using the least amount of index cards in order to hold a stuffed animal for 20 seconds.
The students used a variety of different methods for construction – curved base, wide base, rectangular structures – and multiple were successful. An interesting way to explore the scientific method.
